Where I've Been...

Hi my name is Shannon....and I've been a horrible blogger.

It's been several days since I've even considered writing a post on the good ol' blog and I'm feeling so guilty!

If you're hoping for a wild update telling you all that I've been busy traveling the world and partying like a rock star you may want to hit the little "x" in the top right hand corner of your browser:(

To update you all....

WE SOLD OUR CONDO!!!

Nothing makes me happier than NOT having to camp out in my car with my 2 furry friends any longer!!

So selling our condo means one thing.....now it's time to pack.

NO ONE hates packing more than I do....NO ONE!

We have 2 weeks until we have to be out and I can't seem to get my shit together (literally)

This was the scene Saturday night in mi casa.

I threw a few kitchen items into 2 boxes, cracked open a Blue Moon, turned on some Project Runway on my DVR and packing was over for the night.

I need help:(

I can't promise I will be writing anymore posts this week (if I do it will be a miracle) so I'm going to leave you all with my current thoughts....

Rants and Raves...Week 5!!

Happy Friday, friends!

The sun is shining and I've been blasting my Adele Radio on Pandora this morning....it's starting out to be a great day.

Since it's Friday that means....

....Its time to RANT and RAVE!!!

Rants and Raves

So I got a giant bag of Easter candy from Mom & Dad this year full of Cadbury Minis, Whoppers, Kit Kats and these tempting little devils....The Reese's Eggs.
I've successfully eaten all of the Cadbury minis and Kit Kats (Whoppers are for the birds) and I thought I would be able to resist the Reese's Eggs but as I am typing this I'm seeing the remains of 2 wrappers on my computer desk from last night. These things are my kryptonite and it's almost bikini season...HELP!
...END RANT...

Prosecco & St. Germain....a combo so delicious it has had me salivating since the last time I drank them together! Add a lemon twist to this cocktail?? I'm literally drooling over here....and it's 9:00 in the morning!
I'm attending a bachelorette party this weekend and part of the agenda is having cocktails on a rooftop deck....as soon as I told my friend, Kate she asked "do you think we can have Prosecco & St. Germain?"
Yes we can.....YES, WE CAN!!:)

Roots are for Trees....but I also have them
Okay so my roots aren't QUITE as bad as Rhianna's but I feel like a skunk and it's killing me.
You know that feeling when you want to book a hair appointment but you try to hold out a few extra weeks to time your hair coloring right for an event you have to attend? No? Am I the only one who does this? I know I'm not....show me some support over here as I try and live with skunky hair for another couple of weeks.
...END RANT...

So both of my RAVES this week are cocktails....what of it??

I met my friend Jackie at a local bar yesterday for some late morning bloodys and they were delicious as ever. You see, this bar makes their own garlic/basil infused vodka and it is spicy and delicious!!!
Just talking about yesterday's bloody mary's is reminding me of the late afternoon heartburn that endured but it was totally worth it:)

Shannon's Monthly Beauty Product Review!!!

It's about that time.....time for a beauty product review!

Wow...it feels like it's been awhile!

Just because I haven't been reviewing products DOESN'T mean they aren't always jumping into my basket at Target and Walgreens (and now ULTA...swwwoooonnnn!)

I can't say enough good things about the new Suave Moroccan Infusion oil
I was ALWAYS very loyal to the original Moroccan Oil products but when I recently ran out of my oil and realized that I am trying to save money for a house I thought "let's try a knock-off version." This stuff is amazing!!! It's under $7 for the bottle and it makes my hair smell SO clean. Every time I use it I make my hubby smell my hair....it's annoying for him but awesome for me:)

Don't be alarmed if you don't know what this is (I promise you its not obscene).
I had never heard of tanning mitts either until about 2 weeks ago. I saw a tutorial on YouTube using one and headed to ULTA to pick one up. I'm pretty sure it cost me $4.99 and has changed my whole self tanning experience forever!! I always hated self tanning at home because I ALWAYS give myself streaks resembling tiger stripes....until now! Simply put your tanning lotion on the mitt and rub on. NO STREAKS!!!
Don't forget to wash your tanning mitt though...mine looks like a piece of evidence from a crime scene now.

When my husband first saw the Ulta Super Blender Sponge on my vanity he asked, "WTF is that???"
It's odd looking and to be totally honest....I want to love this sponge but I absolutely hate it.
Am I using it wrong???
So far I've tried this thing twice and all it did was suck up all of my foundation and make my face smell like a condom.
It has a weird rubbery odor and I don't ever want to see it again. Friends....do you use a beauty blender and do you love yours? I NEED answers.

There you have it!! My monthly Beauty Review. Feel free to share your experiences with these products in the comments:)

Weekend Shenanigans!

When it comes to iPhone photos....this weekend wasn't a good one....but in reality it was GREAT!

My spirits are finally starting to lift after everything that happened in Boston last week and the sun is shining bright on this fine Monday morning!

Today also marks Mike and I being married for 10 MONTHS! WOW time really flies. It feels like it was only a few months ago I was walking down the aisle!

Friday was spent glued to the TV.
I finally exhaled Friday night when the 2nd suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing was caught.
What an emotional day.

I went out for a quick cocktail with friends and as we raised our glasses to cheers we said
"cheers to....being here....together."

It was the only thing that seemed appropriate on such a terrifying day in Massachusetts.

Otherwise....

These are the only 2 photos I have from this past weekend...

Saturday night started out with a GIANT raspberry margarita and ended at a fantastic party for my friend Alison which was very reminiscent of high school. A party complete with beer pong, a duel ice luge, a keg and lots of laughs.

Cheers to this week being better than the last!

A Way to Help...Bucks for Bauman!

Our beloved city of Boston is going through heartbreak after the horrific incidents that occurred on Patriot's Day.

As I mentioned the other day, a classmate of mine I've known for over 20 years was one of the victims who was critically injured in Monday's attack. I ask that all of you keep Jeff Bauman, the courageous victim from my hometown of Chelmsford, MA in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers from losing both of his lower limbs.

If anyone is interested in giving back and helping Jeff and his family, a fundraiser called "Bucks for Bauman" has been set up by his close friends.

Below are two links where donations are being accepted (the second link doesn't require Paypal)! Every dollar counts! Hospital bills are expensive and so are prosthetics...and he'll need 2!

Tears for My City and My Hometown

I don't have any words for what happened in my beloved city of Boston yesterday....just tears.

A classmate of mine from my hometown was one of the victims who was critically injured in yesterday's horrific events. Seeing gruesome images of someone you know over and over again on the news is enough to make you sick to your stomach as I'm sure you can imagine.

I ask that all of you pray for Jeff, the courageous victim from my hometown of Chelmsford, MA as he recovers from losing both of his lower limbs.

In the wake of all this sadness I also ask that everyone stop and honor the brave individuals who risked their own safety to help others in Boston yesterday.

This is Carlos Arredondo, a man who was a spectator at the marathon yesterday. He was there supporting war veterans as they ran in honor of his late son who was killed in Iraq in 2004.
Thanks to Carlos's quick reaction and running towards the explosion to help others, Jeff was given a chance.

We need to thank God that there are people out there in the world like this man.

Weekend Shenanigans!!

HAPPY MARATHON MONDAY!!!

So you know those weekends when you plan to have NOTHING to do but then out of nowhere you end up having a great time??

This was the first weekend in a while that Mike and I had no plans to go out anywhere or do anything but that quickly changed when he decided he wanted to head up to Portland, Maine for the day on Saturday with friends!

The trip to Maine turned into a bar crawl which turned into dinner at a BBQ joint which turned into late night bowling.

Needless to say....I'm sad Monday is here!

Here are some snaps from my weekend...

{took my first trip to Ulta....Yes I was an Ulta virgin until recently. They only JUST came to the Northeast! Luckily there is one less than 2 miles from my house:)}

{Had a makeup party with our friend and hairdresser Sirena Friday morning where she made my sissys and I look like beauty queens}

{Kate and I mapping out our Portland bar crawl}

{Bartender pouring some blended scotch}

{our new favorite cocktail....prosecco with st. germain and a lemon twist}

{a little window painting at "Buck Naked"}

{giving Miss Maddy a push on Sunday afternoon}

{Hit up TJMaxx pretty hard with Mom on Sunday...they had SO many cute Summer clothes!!}

All I want to be doing on this Boston Marathon Monday is sitting outside with a St. Germain/Prosecco cocktail....but alas I am indoors catching up on LOTS of work and eventually dragging my buns to the gym.

Until tomorrow, lovelies:)
